Mel C. Clemmons is known as one of the best and brightest talents with great accomplishments in business and finance of this decade. Growing up in a small town southeast of Knoxville, Tennessee called Harriman, Mel was born to an educating professional and a Real Estate entrepreneur. After graduating from Harriman High School in 1993 with a full academic scholarship to the University of Tennessee, Mel attended college full-time and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics. Immediately, he resumed his college studies and pursued the educational field, and completed his college career graduating Magna Cum Laude with a Master of Science Degree in Education from the University of Tennessee in 1998.
Mel’s business acumen began at a very young age. During college, Mel was introduced to the insurance industry, and became a licensed producer for the state of Tennessee. Shortly thereafter, upon graduating from college, Mel owned and operated Mel’s Music and More in Harriman; and became one of the town’s biggest overnight successes. In addition to owning his own record store, he pursued his teaching career in Math Education in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, and also began mentoring inner-city youth which led him to become an Ambassador for the Deaf where he assisted the deaf and hard of hearing. While pursuing teaching as his passion, Mel also found himself counseling and collaborating with young professionals around the state of Tennessee, and evolved into the corporate landscape. It was at this time Mel left education to become a Senior Account Executive for BellSouth Business Systems. Mel’s accounts surpassed company expectation, and ultimately earned him prestigious awards, and promotions.
In 2001, Mel relocated to Atlanta, Georgia, and continued as a Corporate Account Executive, where he landed and closed the largest business system deals in the Georgia with the Georgia International Convention Center. One year later, Mel opened up Mel C. Clemmons Allstate and has evolved as one of the most successful insurance professionals in the state of Georgia. Partnering with other business and financial executives, Mel Mel became a member and facilitated the launch of a successful consulting firm, SAMM Consulting, becoming a successful intermediary of business consulting. Today, Mel has successfully facilitated and closed over $20Mill in business premium as intermediary with SAMM Consulting; and, he is referred to as one who exudes a great understanding of business, and a financial expert consultant for unique business partnerships that expand across various industries.
Mel resides in Woodstock, Georgia with his wife of eight years, Stephanie; and, he is the proud father of five boys—Aaron, Jaunte, Mel Lee, Chase and Caden. His pastimes include going to the movies, spending time with family and friends, playing basketball and traveling.
